Tells the compiler to generate an output file containing dependency information.

Architecture Restrictions

Not available on Intel® 64 architecture targeting the Intel® Xeon Phi™ coprocessor x100 product family (formerly code name Knights Corner), on IA-32 architecture targeting Intel® Graphics Technology, or on Intel® 64 architecture targeting Intel® Graphics Technology

The compiler does not generate an output file containing dependency information.

Description

This option tells the compiler to preprocess and compile a file, then generate an output file (with extension .d) containing dependency information.

It is similar to /QMD, but it does not include system header files.
