Dialog Box: Processes

Configure the Intel® VTune™ Amplifier to collect data on the processes spawned by the target process. This option is recommended for applications launched by a script.

To access this dialog box:

On the Intel® VTune™ Amplifier toolbar, click the Configure Project button to open the Choose Target and Analysis Type window.

The Analysis Target tab is active by default.
Select a target system in the left pane and select the Launch Application or Attach to Process target type from the drop-down menu in the right pane.
Check the Analyze child processes box and click the Modify button on the right.

The Processes dialog box opens.

Per-process configuration column

Specify the name of the process you want to configure an analysis for.

The Default process configuration represents how all processes should be analyzed. This line cannot be removed, only analysis configuration can be specified.

Analyze column

Click to enable a drop-down menu and select one of the following options:

Use This Option	To Do This
Do not analyze	Ignore the process and child processes it spawns while collecting data.
Only parent	Analyze the process but do not collect data on any child processes.
Only child	Do not analyze the process but collect data on child processes it spawns.
Parent and child	Collect data on process and child processes it spawns.

Remove the selected process from the list.
