Duration

Estimate the duration time of your application target.

This value affects the size of the collected data. For long-running targets, the sampling interval is increased to reduce the result size. For hardware event-based analysis types, the duration estimate affects the multiplier applied to the configured Sample After value.

To specify the duration estimate:

Click the Configure Project button on the VTune Amplifier toolbar.
The Analysis Target tab opens.
Select a required target system from the left pane and a target type from the drop-down menu in the right pane.
From the Advanced section, use the Duration time estimate drop-down menu to select the type of duration:
- Under 15 minutes for targets running less than 15 minutes
- Between 15 minutes and 3 hours for targets running from 15 minutes to 3 hours
- Over 3 hours for targets running longer than 3 hours
